In my last post, I talked about the judgment which is coming AND the outpouring for those who are seeking HIM. Now it is imminently upon us to truly choose which kingdom in which we will live and move and have our being. Many believers have been surprised by this latest decision, because they are unknowing of the precepts and ways of God (Psalm 119:15,27). In this they have become a part of the 4 generations of the father’s (not Father’s)iniquity which have been visited upon our nation, which are mentioned in 4 places of Scripture: Exodus 20:5; 34:7; Numbers 14:18; and Deuteronomy 5:9. When you look at the last 4 generations, one can see the degradation of flight from everything that is aligned with the heart of God.
We have made significant decisions as a nation which have now culminated with the recent Supreme Court decision. This decision did not happen in a vacuum. This decision did not happen sequestered from a historical path, which trekked through many marking points of moral warning. This decision by 5 lawyers who “set themselves against the knowledge of God” became simply, the breaking point in the dam, which by only paper clips and duct tape held it together with a minute fragment of God’s covenant left being observed in our national law. As a result, this week, during prayer, I felt the Lord saying this: “Do not grieve for the nostalgia of the nation and its journey from me, grieve that the nation has now officially broken covenant with me.”
Many grieve because they miss the economy of prior years. They know deep down that the years of plenty were associated with greater integrity and blessing. However, God is not moved by repentance so that our economy would return to what it once was. Jesus did not overthrow the Roman Empire amongst a captive people when He came to earth. In fact, He taught the people how to live in another Kingdom, while their physical presence was still in habitation to the captivity of the Roman Empire. Hosea 7:14 says this: Woe to them, because they have strayed from me! Destruction to them, because they have rebelled against me! I long to redeem them but they speak about me falsely. They do not cry out to me from their hearts but wail on their beds. They slash themselves, appealing to their gods for grain and new wine, but they turn away from me. I trained them and strengthened their arms, but they plot evil against me. They do not turn to the Most High; they are like a faulty bow. Their leaders will fall by the sword because of their insolent words.
Remember this, for those who are holding onto a strictly governmental change to fix our nation’s woes: The Children of Israel in Scripture, after Moses, only lived in a democracy during the book of Judges. The rest of the time they lived in a monarchy or they were exiled in captivity. This simple fact tells us God is not as concerned about what our national government structure is as he is about His people honoring His covenant. Do not get me wrong: I believe in standing for issues of righteousness, voting righteously and making your voice known in the ways we are afforded. For those of you who know me, I am involved in the local arena as well. However, I hear so many believers say things like, “I can’t wait till the next election, when a Republican is elected in the White House.” Folks, how can I say this? – There is one Savior, and the President of the United States is NOT him; no matter who sits in the seat! Prayer needs to be the initial point of seeing a change come to the people of God in the United States.
There are 2 points I wish to make here. First, we must seek the knowledge of the truth. Illuminists in every cult, religion, dogma, and creed seek truth in various ways. However we know there is only one truth. A few chapters earlier, Hosea says in 4:6 …my people are destroyed from lack of knowledge. “Because you have rejected knowledge, I also reject you as my priests; because you have ignored the law of your God… Before you as the reader appropriate this scripture to only pastoral leaders, I want to remind you of a new covenant declaration and promise. 1 Peter 2:9-10 says, “But you are A CHOSEN RACE, A royal PRIESTHOOD, A HOLY NATION, A PEOPLE FOR God’s OWN POSSESSION, so that you may proclaim the excellencies of Him who has called you out of darkness into His marvelous light; for you once were NOT A PEOPLE, but now you are THE PEOPLE OF GOD; you had NOT RECEIVED MERCY, but now you have RECEIVED MERCY.” You have to see here, Hosea’s declaration applies to ALL believers!
Isaiah 5:12-14 says, “Their banquets are accompanied by lyre and harp, by tambourine and flute, and by wine; but they do not pay attention to the deeds of the LORD, nor do they consider the work of His hands. Therefore My people go into exile for their lack of knowledge; And their honorable men are famished, And their multitude is parched with thirst. Therefore Sheol has enlarged its throat and opened its mouth without measure; And Jerusalem’s splendor, her multitude, her din of revelry and the jubilant within her, descend into it.…
What is this lack of knowledge these 2 prophets speak about? Timothy addresses it in 2 Timothy 2:24-26, “The Lord’s bond-servant must not be quarrelsome, but be kind to all, able to teach, patient when wronged, with gentleness correcting those who are in opposition, if perhaps God may grant them repentance leading to the knowledge of the truth, and they may come to their senses and escape from the snare of the devil, having been held captive by him to do his will.” He then addresses those who cannot find truth in chapter 3:6-8, “For among them are those who enter into households and captivate weak women weighed down with sins, led on by various impulses, always learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth. Just as Jannes and Jambres opposed Moses, so these men also oppose the truth, men of depraved mind, rejected in regard to the faith” Jesus himself said that He is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. What we see here pictured is exactly what has happened and is happening in our nation: as a whole and in the Body. The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge and until we come to that point as believers, we will not come to the knowledge of the Truth.
The second point I wish to address is the fact that most believers do not approach the Lord relationally. They approach Him for salvation, they approach Him for needs, they even approach Him sometimes in corporate worship, but because of fear, apathy, and guilt they do not approach Him relationally. In Exodus 9, we are given a picture of how God wanted his people to approach Him at Mt. Sinai. The people became afraid and insisted that only Moses go up to see God for them. (representational relationship) This model is not much different today. Most church people enjoy the representation they have in their pastor every week, without enjoying the original intent of how God fashioned them; to have communion with Him perpetually. It is needed for the Body to come together, but if that is all they have in relationship with their Heavenly Father, much is missing.
The Hebrew writer addresses this in chapter 12: 18-29 – For you have not come to a mountain that can be touched and to a blazing fire, and to darkness and gloom and whirlwind, and to the blast of a trumpet and the sound of words which sound was such that those who heard begged that no further word be spoken to them. For they could not bear the command, “IF EVEN A BEAST TOUCHES THE MOUNTAIN, IT WILL BE STONED.” And so terrible was the sight, that Moses said, “I AM FULL OF FEAR and trembling.” But you have come to Mount Zion and to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to myriads of angels, to the general assembly and church of the firstborn who are enrolled in heaven, and to God, the Judge of all, and to the spirits of the righteous made perfect, and to Jesus, the mediator of a new covenant, and to the sprinkled blood, which speaks better than the blood of Abel. See to it that you do not refuse Him who is speaking. For if those did not escape when they refused him who warned them on earth, much less will we escape who turn away from Him who warns from heaven. And His voice shook the earth then, but now He has promised, saying, “YET ONCE MORE I WILL SHAKE NOT ONLY THE EARTH, BUT ALSO THE HEAVEN.” This expression, “Yet once more,” denotes the removing of those things which can be shaken, as of created things, so that those things which cannot be shaken may remain. Therefore, since we receive a kingdom which cannot be shaken, let us show gratitude, by which we may offer to God an acceptable service with reverence and awe; for our God is a consuming fire.
You see, we live in a Kingdom which cannot be shaken. Today is the time to realize that! This Kingdom is not measured by the rule of man when it steps outside the Law of God. You can choose to live by the minutia of this earthly kingdom, gravitate towards its enticements and ways it gives you to think it can be changed by; OR you can penetrate the Heavenly Kingdom, so that what needs to be shaken in the earthly kingdom can and will be, and you will be a part of the solution and not the problem. There are 2 kingdoms; the kingdom of the problem, and the Kingdom of the Solution, the kingdom of darkness and the Kingdom of Light. Which are you going to participate in? – it is a multiple-choice test, with an answer key that has 66 books.
