Martin Niemoller was an influential German pastor during the rise of Adolph Hitler. When the Nazis took power from the German government by deception and murder, Niemoller was an enthusiastic supporter. Hitler personally promised Niemoller that he had no interest in the church and promised that his party would allow the church to tend to the spiritual needs of the people without interference. Just as Hitler lied to Stalin – he lied to the church as well. Hitler eventually pursued control of all aspects of German life, including the church.
Niemoller realized that he had fallen victim to the propaganda and had failed God and the people of Germany. In his desire to participate in the popular support of the Nazis and the national pride they seemed to behold, he lost sight of the Scriptures and what it says concerning the Jewish People. What did he do? He repented and began to preach the truth concerning the Nazis, encouraging his fellow Germans to stand against the hatred, envy, and brutality manifesting itself against the Jewish people. He was captured and placed in a concentration camp, where he spent eight years.
In an act of public confession and repentance, Niemoller penned a now-famous poem still quoted to this day. Here is what he wrote.
“First, they came for the Communists
And I did not speak out Because I was not a Communist
Then they came for the Socialists
And I did not speak out Because I was not a Socialist
Then they came for the trade unionists
And I did not speak out Because I was not a trade unionist
Then they came for the Jews
And I did not speak out Because I was not a Jew
Then they came for me
And there was no one left To speak out for me”
Niemoller – a pastor and contemporary to Deitrich Bonhoeffer – ended his poem by referencing the Jewish people. Having identified opponents as enemies of the state – of Germany – there was no strength left among the German people to defend the Jewish people… including Christians. This was the plan all along – weaken the resolve of the populous – and cause people to walk away from their religious and moral beliefs for a stronger national narrative – that was void of God – the Bible, Jesus – or any truth written or emanated from the Scriptures.
We have arrived once again at a place in history concerning the Jewish people that if it is to be reversed, there must be mass confession and repentance among Christians in America.
American Christians have said little to nothing for decades while the enemies of Israel, the terrorists who have ties to Iran, Qatar, North Korea, Pakistan, Indonesia, and India, have bombed, murdered, kidnapped, and raped Jews and Christians at their discretion. October 7, 2023, was just a microcosm of a greater hidden evil against Israel and Christians that has existed for decades while American Christians simply went about their daily lives either not caring at all or just indifferent.

American Christians have said little to nothing for decades while Muslim countries neighboring Israel have taught their children from the youngest age to hate Jews, to take up arms against the Jewish people, and to die a martyr’s death to inflict pain on any Jew for any reason, or no reason at all beyond their belief that it pleases “Allah.”
In 2013, while in Israel, taking my 12-year-old son Levi on his pilgrimage tour; we were able at that time to go up on the temple mount. There was a small building which was a jihad school, and it was a fall day, so the windows were open. We watched children with their Hamas green headbands, I’m guessing in the range of six or seven to fourteen- or fifteen-year-olds chant over and over in Arabic, “Death to the Jew! Death to Israel! Death to America!”
When October 7th occurred, (10 years later), I looked at Levi and asked him this question: “How many of those Hamas children who were now in their 20s, participated in the brutality of the attack on Israel?” His response was – “probably all of them…”
You see – American Christians have been silent while our politicians have taken baths in the tub of Muslim funding. The price for Radical Islamic extortion? Betrayal of Israel. It is no secret that the US Department of State is a hotbed of Arab-Muslim radicals with moderate veneers – like CAIR. The American Government contains hidden plants that have been developed for years – and Pastors have barely even mentioned the treachery towards His Firstborn (Exodus 4:22) Here are other indications of this influence and indifference:
- Little to nothing was said about the millions of dollars in Islamic money donated to American universities to fund Palestinian hate groups.
- The illegal invasion occurring at our southern border with Mexico. It is a known fact that most of those invading America are military-aged Middle Eastern men with known ties to Islamic terror groups.
- The White House administration openly working to ignite a civil war in Israel; with an attempt to unseat a freely elected Benjamin Netanyahu from his office so that (just like Obama did in the Arab Spring) they can install their puppet leader to welcome Islamic terrorists. All the while supporting a war with a now-dictator in the Ukraine – who is not legitimately elected.
Three to four years ago, I watched many so-called Bible-believing pastors ignorantly march with Antifa and Black Lives Matter, two virulently anti-American domestic terrorist organizations – with anarchist and communist ties, which have been given billions of dollars by American corporations to continue their anarchy and subversion, while Christians have been made the target of lawfare. These groups are now rioting and protesting against Israel and for the LGBTQ+ cause. Read my earlier blog on how “Lies foment Al-lies” and the picture of 2 Chronicles 20.
Niemoller’s poem is working in reverse today. In Germany, the Jews were last, and there was no one to stand for them and with them. Hitler used his plan to eradicate the Communists, Socialists, and trade unionists first. Then he came for the Jews.
Americans today are willing to concede Israel to the Islamic Jihadi terrorists in the hope that they will escape unscathed while allowing all of these same elements at the highest positions in our land…
We must realize – Terrorism is a vehicle. It has to be fueled, driven and steered. Because it is being celebrated, the fuel reserves are being filled. Terrorism is
now in full bloom in the Middle East, Asia and Europe. Why do we think it will not be steered into the US? Why are we indifferent? Why do we ignore the signs? Folks…standing down in the face of those you know who are persecuted is not the message of the Gospel. In Matthew 10:22-23, Yeshua says this:
“And you will be hated by all for My name’s sake. But he who endures to the end will be saved. When they persecute you in this city, flee to another. For assuredly, I say to you, you will not have gone through the cities of Israel before the Son of Man comes.”
Will you stand for your Jewish neighbors? Would you hide a Jewish family if it came to that as many did during WW2? Or would the threat of an earthly death cause too much fear for you to even think about it? If it does – I would encourage you to pray…ask the Father…and seek why that is the case.
The middle class is being gutted – and that is a different conversation, but just check to see how expensive it is to sustain in these days and times… A time will come and each of us will have to decide on where we stand on some very core values. Where will you stand?
